A retirement village that provides something for so many
In partnership with Owhatiura South 5, Classic developed, built, and now operates the Lynmore Rise retirement village in Rotorua, which is situated on multiply-owned Maori Freehold Land. The property originally formed part of a much larger landholding, that had been subdivided, fragmented, and sold over time. Owhatiura South 5 was determined to ensure the remaining land stayed within their ownership, providing a financial return and local employment opportunities.
Classic's role in the partnership is to build and establish the village, running its operations for the first five years. Following that, a transition period of ten years will allow Owhatiura to build the capability and capacity needed to manage and run the village long-term.
Innovative funding solutions, close collaboration with lenders, meticulous site management, and culturally sensitive design considerations led to the success of this project. The Lynmore Rise Lifestyle Village project is a testament to the partnership's shared vision, dedication, and creativity in overcoming obstacles while fostering community engagement and sustainability.
