In partnership with Owhatiura South 5, Classic developed, built, and now operates the Lynmore Rise retirement village in Rotorua, which is situated on multiply-owned Maori Freehold Land.
Lynmore Rise is now a retirement village that provides something for so many. The property originally formed part of a much larger landholding, that had been subdivided, fragmented, and sold over time. Owhatiura South 5 was determined to ensure the remaining land stayed within their ownership, providing a financial return and local employment opportunities.
Classic's role in the partnership was to build and establish the village, running its operations for the first five years. Following that, a transition period of ten years will allow Owhatiura to build the capability and capacity needed to manage and run the village long-term.
Innovative funding solutions, close collaboration with lenders, meticulous site management, and culturally sensitive design considerations led to the success of this project. The Lynmore Rise Lifestyle Village project is a testament to the partnership's shared vision, dedication, and creativity in overcoming obstacles while fostering community engagement and sustainability.
