Founded in the Bay of Plenty, the journey began in 1996 when Matt Lagerberg and Peter Cooney started Classic Builders. They saw a growing need in the market for quality, value-for-money homes, built by honest and creative people.
Classic Builders are now one of the largest independently owned residential building companies in the country.
While building has always been the Group’s backbone, diversifying into land development and commercial construction swiftly followed. In more recent years the focus has been on creating recurring revenue streams in retirement village build and operation, property investment and syndication, and asset management services.
